If you could live anywhere in the world (fictional or real), where would it be?
Now this is just a ridiculous question - I want to live all over the world! Holy crap. I can't ever seem to stay in the same place for more than two years. Excluding Japan, because c'mon, that's my hood. But seriously, I'm going to have to get used to being broke....forever. Because I keep city hopping. I'm from Japan, but fresh outta high school it was Los Angeles, then San Francisco, then Florence, Italy. Now I'm in San Francisco to finish up school in May but next it's New York. I'm applying to Grad School at Columbia and NYU. Because, you know, I hate having money and love to get rid of it all. I'd ultimately love to one day wind up in Paris. I went there for four days a year ago, being one of those skeptics who are always "So what is the big deal about Paris?" Oh...it's a HUGE deal. Meaning, if Paris were a guy, I'd be married to him already. Awesome, awesome city.
As for the near future, I'm seriously looking into attending this volunteering abroad program in either Kenya or Peru. Did you know for roughly 2000 American dollars, you can go to Peru for ten weeks and help working on conservation projects in Cusco? The historical capital of the Inca Empire? Are you shitting me? How I'm a even still here typing this???
What superpower would you most like to have?
It's so awesome that this is the question of the day. My cousins were just here in San Francisco visiting me and due to our collective "Watchmen" hype, this was the general theme of their visit. We decided that it would be awesome if we were a crime-fighting trio - no league titles as of yet but we definitely gave each other our respective superhero titles. Tim is Haymaker, Scott would be The Inquisition, and I was dubbed Siren. I'm pretty confident that both Tim and my superhero names are probably already taken by Marvel/DC, but whatever. There is even this thing on the Marvel Comics website to generate your own superhero. My cousins have yet to construct their designs, but I went ahead and did mine without them. And you should too!
How many houses have you lived in? How is where you live now different from where you grew up?
Wow, is this question for real? There is no way that I have the time and energy to create a list. As a military brat, I moved all over the world growing up. It came with the territory. By the time I was fourteen years old, I had had fourteen different addresses. I am now twenty-two and I am sure that my number of past address is similar to that number. I never had a 'home-town' per say, and I still don't Whenever I am asked the question 'Where are you from?' I never quite know how to answer. Do you mean where was I born? Or do you mean where I spent the majority of my youth? Do you want my hometown in America, or globally? Do you mean where my family lives or where I live now? And as if this was not confusing enough, since leaving home after high school, I have continued to lead my nomadic lifestyle. I've gone to college in four difference campuses and three different countries. I've had at least sixteen different roommates. Ugh! Sometimes, I really wish that I would finally become settled and stop moving around but on the other hand, after I'm in a town for about two years, I get the itch to move on. I guess I feel that there is too much would out there to stay in one place...
What compliment are you most often given?
I am always told that I have amazing hair. Which, and I know how this is going to sound, I would have to agree with to some extent. I have really really thick hair. And there is a ton of it. I used to tie it into a pony-tail every single day but it got to the point where I was even too lazy to do that (How lazy do you have to be to not want to tie it?). I went through a period when I was in early high school where it just did this frizzy thing and refused to be tamed. This is when it received the loving nickname of "The Beast." As of nowadays, I've pretty much gotten over my hair insecurities and throughly enjoy it.
